OCRC Report: Chronic respiratory disease report

Workers are exposed to toxic substances in the workplace primarily through inhalation of dust, fibres, fumes, and gases in the air. Some common respiratory hazards, such as asbestos, crystalline silica, and diesel engine exhaust, cause both cancer and other diseases. The Chronic Respiratory Disease Report highlights important findings on Ontario workers, based on their occupation and industry, that are at an increased risk of respiratory disease.
