Ann comes to the OCRC with a unique perspective on occupational cancer. Her multidisciplinary background has left her well versed in the science-policy interface. Ann’s research interests are in environmental and occupational cancer; esophageal cancer; environmental and ecosystem health; and alternative methodological approaches. Ann’s Ph.D. dissertation focused on the living and working environments of esophageal cancer patients, where she was interested in gaining a contextual understanding of the risk factors for disease. At the OCRC, Ann is currently investigating workplace fatalities across Canada with a special emphasis on mesothelioma and asbestos exposure.
